Northside Town Hall
Community and Cultural Center
The Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center is a project of two long-standing neighborhood advocacy organizations, Neighbors Allied for Good Growth and The People’s Firehouse, to turn the Historic Engine Co. 212 firehouse on Wythe Ave in Williamsburg Brooklyn into a Community and Cultural Center for North Brooklyn.
The not for profit center will eventually provide affordable meeting space for community use, a ground floor exhibition space for cultural and arts organizations, a permanent home to the two founding organizations to continue their important work advocating for the residents of the area, as well as commemorate the history of Engine Co. 212 and the activism in our community.
Since 2009 the Northside Town Hall has run the Arts Happening Series, seasonally bringing local artists into the raw space to activate it with performances, installations, and live music, showcasing the true potential of the space. They also produce The Annual TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint festival, a culinary celebration of North Brooklyn’s local flavor to help raise money for the renovation costs of the project and celebrate what this community has to offer.
